Alicia, Thank you so much for sharing your experiences on the Job hunting path as a young, recent graduate. Friends, it is hard -at any age- to begin your work life after graduating from a program/college in these days. We need to get creative and keep our skills up to par as we search for that great job.
1. Keep a positive outlook
2. Consider volunteering while looking for a job.
You can list your volunteer time as experience.
You get an opportunity to learn new skills and obtain a recent reference.
3. Constantly update your resume.
Never give up! Be creative and stand out from the rest of the applicants.
Before you go on your interview research the salon or company.
The greatest flattery to a shop owner or company is knowing about their business.
It shows that you have interest in growing.
In January 2014, we will begin our series in career building. All part of our "living simply" 2014 theme. We will keep you posted on Alicia's journey. Enjoy The Podcast!
